We are in the end stages of developing and testing a Whole Blood course training.
This training is for pre-hospital providers, and goes through the identification, treatment, and resuscitation of the emergently bleeding patient in the prehospital system.
One participant in a pilot course said the most useful skills learned were:Â
1) Discussion of PPV for patients in shock and possible poor outcomes. Â Â Â Â Â Â
2) Broad overview of oxygen delivery and going over how we can change our care to best help the patient. Â Â Â Â Â Â
3) Going through the specific guideline on who will be a candidate for blood.
